Airplane Valentine

We have never been your typical family. We like it that way. So for Valentines Day weekend, we decided to take a family trip. As much fun as it sounded to go out just the two of us, we definitely had way more fun together. We drove out to Atwater to visit the Castle Air Force Air Museum. It was amazing! There must have been dozens and dozens of old and retired airplanes. Reading some of the history of these planes, if they were actually used for battle or war, if they ever even got off the ground, who flew them and how many missions they carried out, it was mind boggling. Then there were the stories that my grandfather was telling us. Or at least the stories I was trying to hear, in between tired two year old and curious six year old. It was a great day.

Yup, those are bombs… I think they are much bigger than I thought they would have been…

Most of the planes were huge! Those cute little specs in the middle, my babies!

The Fam.

A busy and curious two year old. She keeps me young.

Doesn’t it look like it’s about to eat him!?

This boy is growing like a weed. Seriously, look how tall he is!

This plane is called the PeaceMaker. Does that look like a peace making device?

And these are the bombs that the “Peacemaker” carries, Thermonuclear bombs.

He’s a mean one.

We were pretty sure those were mission marks, but not 100% 118 total.

My Fam. My mom took this great pic!

We had a super awesome time that day. We had a picnic lunch in the back of the cars before hitting the road, PBJ, grapes, and Capri suns and water, and then headed home. So far, best Valentines day ever. My family is amazing. I couldn’t feel more blessed to have such wonderful loving people around me.

Happy belated Valentines day. And remember, its not just a day to remind you that you are single or to buy flowers for you significant other, but a day to remind all those in your life how much you care for them and love them, since we all know we don’t say it enough every other day of the year.
