Once again, I’ve failed at keeping this digital diary updated. Not for lack of trying. I think of it daily, or its more of a passing thought in between 7am breakfast and 3pm homework and everything else in the middle. My brain is fried. Its hard to focus on the little tasks at hand, like blogging, sleeping, keeping my sanity. I wouldn’t have it any other way though. My life is more wonderful than I could have ever imagined… and its even better since I get to share it with some amazing family out on the east coast. We took a trip out there a few months back, just days after summer break began. It was a bit crazy, but we knew it would be well worth the chaos!
Our first stop out east was Newburyport.
Our Favorite stop is the Dragon’s Nest. It has some amazing toys, classic toys, things you remember from your childhood. But they also have some of the coolest new things! The kids love it (almost as much as we do!).
The next day we stopped at this amazing pizza place called Flatbreads. Handmade brick oven pizza, pretty much heaven.
All that yummy pizza eating was followed up by a massive thunder storm and some seriously fun bowling with some friends. Zoey slept through most of it and Xander was crabby for most of it, but in the end, everyone had a good time!
We also went up to Maine to do a little shopping. Some really amazing shops up there (and amazing views!), and for the life of me, can’t remember where we went!
We stayed pretty busy this trip. Though we tried really hard to stay home and just hang out, we just kept finding all these fun things to do. Sooo, we loaded up into two cars and headed to Canobie Lake park! It was awesome. Xander got to ride on his first wooden roller coaster, his first big kid roller coaster. He got off and said he never wanted to do it again, then a minute later, couldn’t wait to do it again! Zoey still isn’t up for the whole ride thing, not even the kiddie rides. She just enjoyed running around eating snow cones. We did manage to convince her to get a little adventurous and ride the Antique Cars. She enjoyed it, but that would be her last ride of the day…
The first ride of the day, this was just before the crying began.
Thought we would give it a second try, nope, not havin’ it. Had to stop the ride to take the poor girl off, rides just aren’t her thing for now I guess. Xander had a blast though!
Lance, Zoey, Xander, Sherena, Joe, and Katie.
Drying off!
His first time riding a roller coaster by himself, he was nervous, but LOVED it!
Saw this on our was out of the park parking lot! Really…14…!!!
We ended the day with nothing other than a BBQ and SMORE’S and a CAMPFIRE!
Before we knew it, the time came to leave. We packed up as much as we could remember and find and tried to stay under our luggage weight limits and stayed up waaay too late the night before out 7am flight!,It was a great trip. We had lots of adventures and fun, late nights and laughter and one amazing monopoly night! Buuut, it was nice to sleep in our own beds again!
