T-Ball and Park Play

It seems as if we eat, breathe, and sleep t-ball at the moment. If we aren’t rushing out of the house for practice, it’s a game. And in between all that is homework and dinner at a normal hour and work and early mornings and often late nights for mom and dad. Its been amazing, though, watching Xander grow and learn on a team. His first practice didn’t go so well. He sat on the sidelines, convinced that he didn’t like baseball and did not want to play. We spent that first practice watching from the edge. All we asked was one “real” attempt at a practice. You never know if you like something or not unless you try. He was mostly ok with this. After that first practice we made a deal, one practice and if he truly did not like it, that was that.

Zoey and I spend our time reading books and hanging out and riding her scooter when the weather is nice while Xander is at practice. By the end of the evening they are both exhausted and sleep incredibly well that night!

And after most practices there is always some park playtime. Unless the weather is bad and the clouds are threatening rain.

His second practice went a lot easier! He didn’t argue or get upset. He grabbed his newly purchased glove and ran out to finally meet his team and coaches. It was great and I was so proud of him for making the leap of faith. He knew he was going to love it, but doing something different is difficult for him. He made my heart jump for joy that day. It was a great day, for all of us.

Practice number three. He was finally really getting into the game. He love when they are all in position and when they get to be at bat. He gets really excited when they get to practice batting. He has even informed me that he doesn’t like to play third base, he says it is too boring because no balls go that direction. I love it!

Playin’ at the park on a nice and sunny day after practice!

Well, that’s it for now, its 1:13 am and sleep is calling.
There has been many other practices and games have already started.
Sooo.. that means waaay more pics to come.

Stay tuned…!
