Hope

After Christmas, we took a two and a half hour drive down to see my sister, Hope. She lives in a town called Hanford. The drive was long but it was pretty fun and it had been a while since we had taken any kind of road adventure. Xander was excited and Zoey didn’t really know what was going on, just that she really didn’t like being in her car seat FOREVER! Even though both kids were getting sick (not quite there yet, but close) we decided to make the drive anyway. No more than thirty minutes later, Zoey was out like a light and her daddy pretty close behind her. Xander kept me company most of the way down there. The views weren’t too bad either, even the rain clouds were nice. S7306176S7306177
Finally almost there two hours later. The time flew by pretty quickly since half of our clan was asleep. The traffic was pretty bad, but we followed my parents down which made it a bit less stressful, I didn’t have to worry about getting lost half way there. The only thing left was a drive through some really flat lands and a few stop lights. The best part, the views of all the snow on the mountains! Amazing! S7306179
All the gorgeous snow, which we weren’t even going to get to play in!! S7306185
We visited my sister and went out for pizza and had a really great time. I think Xander had the best time out of all of us. He loves his Auntie Hope and doesn’t get to see her too often. The way home was pretty quiet too. Both of the kids slept most of the way home. Only a few issues stood in our way home, Xander coughing fits and the possible throwing up scenario (which never happened thankfully.) and the mass amounts of rain that we hit. We could barely see the cars in font of us and those big rigs made it even more impossible to see the road. S7306188
We made it to Santa Nella and stopped to take a short rest and get out of the car for a minute. Zoey woke up and stayed awake till we got home and Xander didn’t wake up until the next morning. We spent that Sunday recovering from the drive and the kids spent that day getting sick! It took them all week to get better. The trip was worth it. Though I think next time we will make sure the kids aren’t sick and make sure the weather is more on our side than on mother natures.
