This year we decided to have new years at our house. It came out to be the best idea that everyone came up with since we have the youngest kids in the family at the moment, it seemed like common sense! It was really great. Zoey was able to take all the naps she needed and we didn’t have to worry about her
getting into things and disappearing on us at some one else’s house. Everyone came over at or around 7pm. The madness all begins at about that hour too. Each family brings their own favorite New Years food, every thing from chips and salsa to mini hotdogs to tasty cookie bars and brownies! The food is pretty much never ending and is always soooo AMAZING, you just can’t stay away! Time always seems like it is going by really slowly, then you stop and look at the clock and it is already 9 or 9:30! Its strange how that happens! Of course, at 9pm we had to call our friends and family already in the new year. Its kind of fun talking to people in the future! Though we wished we could have brought in the new year with all of them too! We miss you guys out there in Massachusetts and Ohio thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis much!!! The kids all hung out and all of us older kids played video games and kept an eye on the littler kids and the adults were no where to be seen most of the night. They hung out in the back yard in the below freezing weather (which I personally think they were CRAZY to do!)
Xander and Ally coloring early in the night.
Zoey hanging out with her buddy, Brandi
The boys playing down the hallway with their new remote control cars, two of which had light up wheels and were totally awesome!
Xander and Tommy playing with the Cars Movie cars after midnight.
They both made it to the new year!
The girls, Brandi and Ally getting some Rock Band time in before the new year comes. They were doing pretty awesome too!
All the kids made it to the new year. Xander actually made it to about three am!!! What a trooper! Zoey fell asleep at 11:54 woke up at 11:59 just in time to witness the new year and then fell back to sleep at 12:04 in 2010! She was such a cutie! The rest of us made it to our beds somewhere around 3am-ish. Can’t really tell you exactly since we were pretty much walking around half asleep! It was a wonderful new year, though we can’t really believe that 2009 is over already. Now we just have to wait and see what the new year will bring us. Happy 2010 Everyone! Hope this new year will bring lots of greatness to all of you.
