First Day of Kindergarten!!!

Xander is finally a Kindergartener!!! He had his first day of kindergarten today. It all went really and he was so excited to go and even more excited to see Auntie Nina everyday (she works at his school as a yard duty). When we finally got there, he just went in all by himself and we barely got to say “bye, have a nice day”, lol!

We woke him up at 7am this morning and he woke up surprisingly well. He really isn’t the morning type of kid and usually didn’t wake up until somewhere around 10am or so. He got up, got dressed and headed out to the kitchen for some breakfast without a single fuss! Lance and I had the same thought “who is this kid and what did they do with our Xander?” Mornings with Xander are never that easy. He even brushed his teeth without a single argument or whine. Seriously… who is this kid?? lol! Finally after our morning routine is finished, we head off to school.

We made it there with about five minutes to spare. He got in line with all the other kids and walked in to the class all by himself! It felt more like high school than kindergarten, like “hey mom thanks for the ride see ya later” kind of thing! It was quite cute, but he was very happy and excited to be there and had already started playing with a box of blocks. We made sure he was set up and ready to go and we said our goodbye’s (and didn’t even get a hug!) and we went on our way.

We picked up Xander from school at 1:30 and he still had a smile on his face! He found two friends from his preschool class last year and made a few new friends. Then he gave us a quick, and I mean quick, run down on the rest of his day, eating lunch, coloring and drawing apples and the Triforce (Anyone a Zelda fan?), writing his name and two stories read by his teacher. Then he he told us he didn’t want to tell us anymore until later tonight!! He is such a funny kid! His auntie nina even sent us a few pictures of him at school at lunch and on the playground (which I will attempt to remove from my cell sometime this week.) He had a wonderful day all around, complete with a trip to the Ice Cream Shop on the way home.It was wonderful to see him doing so well and enjoying his time at school.

Can’t wait to see how the rest of the year will be like…
Being a parent is just so wonderful…
