Did someone say FUNWORKS???

We took a small road trip out to the outer rim of Modesto. A place called Funworks, its like a video game arcade, meets mini golf, meets Go Karts and pizza. We had been waiting for sometime to do and finally got the change. We also took my cousin with us, Brandi, who is fourteen and loves to act her age, lol!

We bought three all day passes for all the events for the older kids while Zoey and I hung out, took pictures and enjoyed watching them all act like five year olds! We laughed a ton and I think all of our faces hurt by the end of the day from so much smiling! It was nice to get out again into the sun and some of us got a little bit more sun then we would have liked. We got there somewhere around noon or so and went straight to the golfing. It was already really hot out side and wanted to get most of it out of the way while it was still tolerable. We played the first nine holes and then took a break and headed for the air conditioner. Each kid, including Lance, got 100 tokens to spend how they wanted. Brandi and Xander were completely hooked on Skiiball. It was definitely their favorite game of the day. We played and played until we had nearly nothing left. It was definitely time for some lunch, mmm pizza!! Little Zoey ate her peas, but I’m sure she would have liked that pizza a whole lot more!

We decided to then hit the go karts. Xander had been talking about it for days on end and this would be Brandi’s first go kart experience! They had so much fun on them that they rode them twice in a row!! Thankfully the place was practically empty! Zoey decided it was time for a little nap which gave us time to finish up the last nine holes of golf. Lance won, Brandi took second and Xander came in last, but only by two points! And of course, it was right back to the video games, kids these days, so addicted!!! We finished up every last token and then headed back outside to the Bumper Boats…

{A little story about the bumper boats. So this is a ride where there are boats in a big pool of water and each boat has three water cannons attached to it. Just before getting on they were pretty convinced that they weren’t going to get “THAT WET”. Refer to picture at the top of this entry… boy were they wrong!!!}

They battled on bumper cars, I think Lance won most of those, Brandi and Xander had this thing about spinning in circles, she says they were stuck, but I think
they liked getting dizzy. The black lights and bright colors made it much more enjoyable for Zoey and I to watch from the sidelines.  Xander and Zoey raced some race cars and of course her big brother won, but give her time, one day she will beat him! Lance and I played a game of air hockey. It was a very intense game and with baby in hand mommy beat daddy. Even if it was only by one point, I know I am more talented! :) Lance and I even played a game of Guitar Hero!! It was great!

So finally the day was coming to an end, baby was getting hungry, tired, and overall cranky, the kids were SOAKED and we still needed to count our tickets and spend them. Xander came out with just over 1200 tickets and Brandi came out with about 500 tickets. Xander being the funny little boy that he is, decided to get three hot wheels, as if the 200 at home just weren’t enough! Brandi got some pretty yummy gummy bears and some other animal gummy (which later became a big melty blob in the back seat of my truck!!!) and a really awesome bracelet with a cute little peace sign!

Of course, any trip that we take isn’t complete with out a trip to Cold Stone Creamery! What kid doesn’t love ice cream and you know cold stone does it best! Zoey got her bottle, the kids got their treat and I got some really nice peace and quiet on the way home. I’m not even sure what really happened after we got home, washed all the wet clothes, made a quick light dinner and Brandi stayed the night and we all passed out at about 10:00, rare for a Friday night.
