Easter = The start of summer

Our Easter is always filled with all the fun things that come with summer. Its usually that day when all the cold weather feels like its behind us and nothing but warm sunny days and cool breezes are in our future. Baskets are always filled with fun summer things like sidewalk chalk and sand shovels and pails, bubbles and paint, beach balls and frisbees and of course a smidge of candy and chocolate (Easter just isn’t east without a chocolate bunny!) My girl can rip though any candy wrapper in just seconds, like in the above pic, and devour it before you know she even had it and then find nothin’ but wrappers littering the floor.

Then after some seriously delicious food and good laughs, most of us younger kids head out to the court. Last year we had a kite theme. Nearly everyone got a kite of some kind and we took them all out to the court and spent most of the evening out there until it got to cold and dessert was calling our names. This year, since Xander was in the middle of his t-ball season, we headed out for some baseball. We ran bases and tried to hit the ball as far as we could get it. It was great. Then it got cold and there was a five layer chocolate cake and a double lemon pie calling our names. Though I neglected to get a picture of those very delicious desserts!

Big Brother pitcher and little sister hitter. They really do make a great team, when they want to!

A day complete with our very own Watercolor Sky.

It was a great day.
Just one of many to come.

Happy Belated Easter.
Hope yours was as good as mine.
