Our favorite part of the fall season and Halloween has to be pumpkin carving. This year, Xander carved his pumpkin ALL BY HIMSELF! The whole thing! The only part he wanted nothing to do with was the cleaning out all the goopy stuff! He had a great time and felt so accomplished when he was finished and we were so proud of him. At one point, we asked if he need any help, he said “No Mom, I got it. I’m a big boy now. I don’t need any help”. He doesn’t sound like a 6 year old! He sounds more like 9 or 10! It kills me sometimes when he says things that make him sound so grown up. He loves his big words, too, but that’s whole other topic. Zoey wasn’t very into the pumpkins. She was most happy to just push them around and watch them roll. Even more, she loved when they were lit up and glowing! We moved out our kitchen table and put down some news paper, it was way too cold outside to do it! We picked our designs carefully and got straight to work. The laughs and the ewww faces were to die for!
Some of our pumpkin adventure:
Zoey was more interested in all the tools and let Daddy do all the work and Xander just made icky faces!
My boys, thinking hard and being creative!
Zoey’s and Mom’s pumpkin, Xander’s pumpkin, and Dad’s pumpkin!
Our pumpkin faces turned out great! The kids had a great time and so did we! It such a great family project to do and it really kicks off the fall season. Xander is already excited for next Halloween.
Only 357 more days!
