I know its all a bit late, but our house has been a circus since Halloween has passed. November is turning out to be an extremely busy month for us!
We carved pumpkins at the great grandparent’s house this year. When I was a kid, we use to carve pumpkins with my grandpa every year. It was really great to be able to continue that tradition with my own little ones. Xander always has a great time with pumpkins, weather its carving them or painting them or just carrying them around, he just doesn’t care too much for the getting gooey part of it. Daddy and Xander did most of the work while I kept our daughter from eating it! Zoey had a great time just cruising the backyard, she really had no interest in the pumpkins, lol!Everyone had a great time and thankfully we were able to do it all outside, which made clean up a snap!
Brandi and Xander concentrating very hard on their pumpkins!
”No dad, this is how its done!” Can’t help but love these boys!
We tried really hard to keep it out of her mouth, but we just had to let her figure out for herself that pumpkin, in its raw form, wasn’t really that tasty!
Being a big boy and trying to carve open his own pumpkin!
Do you see the resemblance?
We had a special peg kit for his pumpkin. All you had to do was clean it out and light it up and the pegs would light up… or at least it was suppose to.
She was way more interesting in the crumbling leaves than the pumpkins!
Funny story really… she was being such a big girl and climbing in and out of the back door (which had one concrete step) and only had one little misstep… and she fell face first into the ground and scraped up her cute little nose! She was such a trooper and didn’t even really cry! We are pretty sure it scared her more than it hurt. It is mostly all healed up now. Silly girl.
Brandi with some of her friends (center), my grandfather (left) and the boys (right) all carving away very intently on their giant orange friends.
Our finished products! All the kids did a great job! Carved faces, glitter and ghost and even little scraped up noses, but in the end there was nothing but tons of smiles!
