We had a thunderstorm this past weekend. We don’t usually get the lightening and thunder, we never have the heat and the humidity at the same time. It was pretty strange, but we enjoyed it. The best and worst part, it never really rained. It drizzled every once in a while, but nothing major (though we could seriously use the rain!). Lance let me sleep in that morning until about 9am (i was soo sick) and about half an hour after I woke up, the power went out! It was pretty funny. The first thing Xander said, while crying, “Now we can’t play the Wii”. He didn’t really care that there wasn’t any power just that he couldn’t play Zelda, lol!! Anyway, we had a great time without any power!
We were able to get a whole lot of things done, like cleaning out the garage for a yard sale that we will be having this weekend. We started about 11am I think and boy were there a ton of things to go through. Most of the boxes were from years ago, my teenage days and Xander’s baby years. Unfortunately, most of the stuff in the garage was my stuff!! I couldn’t believe all the junk that I had in there! In the picture below, all the stuff on the right side, in between the two sides of the garage, was just about half of my stuff! Its all going to the yard sale, its time to get over it and get it out!!! When finally finished some where around 3pm, about a half hour after the power decided to come back on! Thankfully, Zoey slept through pretty much all of the happenings of that day.. except for…
the hot wheel madness….Xander loves his hot wheels. We have indeed counted them before and it came our around 200 or so, which was about a year ago, there must be more by now. Every year on his birthday, we would try to find things that he could use with his huge supply of cars and we found this endless list of hot wheel track toys. They all connect together and work together like a race track with obstacles. Its great and Lance and Xander both have a blast and Zoey loves to play Demo Derby when they are all finished with it and then this is all that remained!
It was a great day overall. Its funny when you take out all the technology and all you have is the quietness around you and your family, you hear everything a little bit more and things seem a little easier. No background music or noise, only the beautiful voices of the people you love filling your ears. I miss it already…
OH! and even better… Its almost FALL!! We can’t wait! We even found a place to go apple picking in November out here!! Its going to be a first for me and the kids, and I’m sure it will bring back a ton of memories of home for Lance.
