We drove down to San Francisco in early May to visit the aquarium and Pier 39 with the kids. It was also Lance’s first visit to San Francisco too and both him and I were really excited! The kids were super excited! All the kids rode down with Lance and I in the truck and we followed my parents and Lesley. There was really no way I was going to drive to busy SF with all the crazy drivers and one way streets by myself!
We visited the Stienhart Aquarium first…which was amazing! It wasn’t just an aquarium. There was a rainforest, Africa, a global warming area, and so many other areas to visit.
Zoey had a really great time. She was soo amazed by everything that she saw! All the colors and new things to see. It was so wonderful to see how much she loved it all!
We even got to watch the Penguins at feeding time. The kids were pretty much glued to the glass!
A real giraffe skull…
After a long day at the aquarium, we headed back to the cars for a “picnic” lunch! We packed a couple coolers with sandwiches and drinks and all that good stuff before we had left earlier that morning. It was such a great idea!! They loved sitting in the bed of the truck with thier PBJ’s, capri-suns and a bag of grapes! And Zoey… well she just chilled out in the front seat… lol!
The trip was amazing! We can’t wait to go back again and explore some more. There was so much to do near, around and in the aquarium but we just didn’t have enough time to do it all! All the kids were so well behaved and most of them slept the whole way home!
next time.. SF Trip Part 2: Pier 39 which was also amazing!!
love ya guys! The Doanes!
